⚠️ Precautions For Use
Do not take Methylene Blue without consulting your healthcare provider if you are on a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, depression/anxiety medications or supplements.
These include: SSRI’s, SNRI’s, or other serotonergic drugs or supplements (St. John’s Wort, 5-HTP, or tryptophan). If taken with these medications it can cause dangerously high serotonin levels, leading to serotonin syndrome – a potentially life-threatening condition.
Methylene Blue does NOT inhibit serotonin itself. It is a potent inhibitor of monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A), an enzyme that breaks down serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine in the brain, which can increase serotonin levels by inhibiting its breakdown.
Do NOT take if you have glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (G6PD). Can cause hemolytic anemia.
Do Not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
May stain skin, dentures, tooth colored restorations & other surfaces. Put dose in an empty gel capsule to prevent staining. Urine may turn green/blue.
